Sulphur based autotrophic denitrification process is commercialized by Yeditepe Treatment for the denitrification of wastewater.

Many package treatment systems can do classical carbon and carbon-nitrification. However, there is not a package system that can remove nitrogen with sulphur based autotrophic denitrification.

BIO-NUT is the post denitrification process that Yeditepe Treatment developed for nitrogen removal from nitrified wastewaters. BIO-NUT could be integrated into small package treatment units as it includes less equipment requirement compared to other nutrient removal processes. It also is easy to install, maintain and assemble since mechanical equipment requisition is minimal. The system is developed after two years of R&D study as it has been both tested on and succeeded in nitrogen removal both actual domestic and industrial wastewater.
